
Makhotso Moabi
FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR
Makhotso Moabi is the dynamic founder and managing director of Romin Construction and Interior, a company renowned for delivering innovative, high-quality construction, interior design, and maintenance solutions across South Africa. With a powerful blend of academic expertise and industry experience, Makhotso leads with precision, creativity, and a strong commitment to sustainable growth in the built environment.

She holds a Master of Science in Property Development and Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she graduated with distinction for her research on the efficiency and economies of scale of South African REITs. Her academic foundation also includes a BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying and a BSc in Construction Economics, equipping her with deep technical proficiency in cost control, project management, and real estate strategy.

Makhotso’s career spans over ten years in the property, construction, and project management sectors. She has managed projects valued up to R50 million, held senior roles in multinational corporations such as Siemens, and led multidisciplinary teams across commercial, residential, and industrial property portfolios. Her experience ranges from development feasibility to hands-on delivery of technical and capital projects — always with a focus on quality assurance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder value.

In founding Romin Construction and Interior, she combines her passion for design, entrepreneurship, and transformation. Projects she has lead are a testament to her end-to-end capabilities, from client acquisition to customer service, concept and completion.

Makhotso is also an active Graca Machel Trust Youth Advisory Group member and project manager in the Women Creating Wealth programme, where she contributes to shaping national strategies for inclusive youth entrepreneurship. She is a member of the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners, the Green Building Council of South Africa, Women’s Property Network, and Youth in Property Association.
Her vision is simple: to build beautiful, functional spaces that uplift communities, create value, and reflect a future-forward approach to design and development.
